The Art Of Mindful Communication – Part III

The Art of Mindful Communication is an 8-Week Interactive Think Tank Workshop

This is the third of a 3-part series, 8-week interactive and experiential think tank workshop specifically developed for those interested in The Art Of Mindful Communication.

What makes this workshop interactive and experiential is based on a participatory principle. You will learn “how to” share your opinions and insights, and be invited to do so from a mindful dialogue approach. We will actively explore the art of mindful communication in a small group setting, in real time.

During sessions, I will invite you to practice mindful communication tools as you learn them. Our pedagogical approach will include Nonviolent Communication language and skills as well as Mindfulness Meditation practices.

My intention in creating these think tanks is to open a conversation around what is possible when we choose to consciously communicate from a mindful, and open heart perspective. I teach within a Philosophy of Possibility mindset and strongly believe in active participation as a means for embodied learning.

While words are important and body language revealing, I have found that open-hearted dialogue, in a safe space, transforms.

These think tanks invite a small group of committed individuals who are both curious and enthusiastic to partake in actualizing change as opposed to philosophizing. You will be encouraged to communicate with your cohort on a weekly basis to practice the tools that you are learning.

Classes will be held on:

Every Tuesday, beginning on July 6th – August 24th, 2021.

6pm – 8pm Eastern Standard Time via Zoom.

*Each event (Parts I, II & III,) can be taken separately. You are not required to have taken parts I & II to take Part III.

*Classes will be recordedand available to you during the length of the program only.

This workshop is for you if:

– You consider yourself a committed individual who is interested in deepening your capacity to effectively communicate and develop better communication skills.

– You are committed to becoming a mindful communicator because you care about your relationships and want to improve upon them.

– You want to express yourself mindfully even when conversations are difficult and/or triggering.

– You care about yourself, you care about people and you want to effectuate positive change around you by expressing yourself honestly and accurately.

Some topics that will be covered during our 8-week workshop:

– What is Mindful Communication?

– How to take full responsibility for your communication style.

– How to listen: an embodied approach to mindful communication.

– How to have difficult conversations without blaming and shaming.

– Expanding your vocabulary to express your feelings.

– Taking 100% responsibility for your words and feelings.

– The difference between criticism and feedback and how to respond to both.

– And more!

The Art Of Mindful Communication is an introduction to what might be possible for you should you choose to take full responsibility for how you communicate in life.

Expression of self is an art form. Expression of self in spoken word is an art form in constant movement. Almost every day of your life, you are required to speak, to communicate with someone about something.

It is my experience that learning HOW to communicate from a present-awareness space, and by expanding our capacity to listen from our hearts can transform each and every one of us for the better. Sometimes considered a “soft skill”, the art of mindful communication offers us a pathway into full expression by taking full responsibility for our words, thoughts and actions. It is a soft skill with the power to transform entire nations. Nothing is stronger than that.

As a Hellerwork practitioner for the past 15 years and Hellerwork Faculty member for the past 5 years, I have had the privilege to work with thousands of bodies and the complexities of the human heart and mind. And what I found out is this:

Every single one of those bodies and complex minds and hearts all want the same thing: To be acknowledged and loved. The truth of this statement has manifested itself over and over again to me via my client’s bodies.

Our bodies, our most intelligent laboratories, have taught me more than any other educational tool. They communicate in the most poetic and sometimes, abrupt of ways, longing to be understood, acknowledged and loved.

The Art Of Mindful Communication is a heart-centered approach to listening to another. Despite the physical distance and in spite of technological integration, we are discovering an entire new paradigm for how to feel, heartfully communicate and compassionately hold space for one another, and I would like to share this possibility with you via this workshop.

The human, heart, mind and body are irreproachably devoted to connecting. At this time of ongoing global transformation, irregular shifts and unstable ground, human beings are still evolving, growing and more than ever, have an insatiable need for connection.

This “think tank” is about learning how to build connection. It’s about building connection with ourselves first and then, it’s about building connection with another.

My commitment to you, during our time together in this workshop, is to set a stage for the possibility of being heard without judgment, being held in a safe space, invited to share even when it’s scary and to explore the depths of your own heart through The Art Of Mindful Communication.
